Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Serves: 4


1 cup ( 200 ml ) milk
7 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup boiled and cooled milk
4 teaspoon custard powder ( vanilla flavor )
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
50 ml fresh cream


Boil 1 cup milk with sugar.

Mix custard powder with cooled milk and make a smooth solution.

Add custard - milk solution to boiled milk and stir continuously on a very low heat for 25 minutes until it thickens ( stir continuously and do not allow to boil, or the mixture will curdle. To prevent curdling of the custard use a very low heat ). Keep aside for cooling. Add vanilla essence and fresh cream. Mix well.

Transfer this whole mixture into a mixer and beat well. Set aside in a freezer for 4 - 6 hours or till it is firm.
